Kerr’s Green Debate team, with support from BP Energy is proud to announce their year long education efforts and participation in the United Nations Foundation’s The People Speak project has resulted with them placing third in the nation with over 27,000 credit points.
Participating students and schools received credit for holding public debates, creating public service announcements, submitting letters to the editor in their local newspaper or engaging with elected officials. On top of that, four students plus coach Derek Davis will be attending the upcoming UN Youth Leadership Summit, taking place in NYC. They will meet policy makers and influential experts on the topic of global warming and climate change from around the world, and partake in activities that will help them educate their peers and take action for years to come.
